Hackaton OMERO

NVvM DA/DM workgroup OMERO Hackaton

During the first NVvM Hackaton organized by the Data analysis, and data management workgroup of the NVvM we focused on OMERO. During the meeting we had three short talks, first explaining the OMERO data structure. Second how OMERO and FIJI can co-operate to analyse your data, and third how OMERO and Python can help you analyse your data via a Jupyter-notebook. The short talks can are recorded and can be watched here.

The second hour was used to define the participants issues and define on which problems to focus during the hackathon. After lunch, the group was split into between python and java programmers. The focus was on improving the connection with OMERO, developing a simple plugin that can be run on one’s own data, and pre-processing of images. After an afternoons of hard work we managed to get several plugins for people to analyse their own data. And we managed to improve parts of the OMERO connection and making new connections between people so we can make sure to keep these projects progressing in the future.
